This piece is all about gifts from the sea.  The texture on the back plate represents the wave marks on the sand, I picked up the sea glass on a Pea-Island beach, and the pearls, oh those lush jewels from the sea.

Kathryn taught me how to sugar fire enamel and I was captured by its velvet texture.

I love the act of layering color and pierced forms.   The forged chain adds a bit of glam.

Water Action

I am taking an enameling class with Kathryn Osgood at COA Dare County, school at the beach no less!  Here is a layered and riveted pendant with a forged chain that I have created.

Sterling Silver Bracelet and Earrings

It was time to gather some bits and pieces left from other larger works and get creative.  I love to hammer so the domed and hammered parts were created first.  Then, hmmm, what would answer the hammered marks?  I chose to score straight lines across the face of smaller circles and then dome them to nest inside the hammered pieces.

Druzy set in Etched, Chased and Domed Sterling Silver

 The druzy is set in a fine silver bezel on the sterling silver back plate.  The domed pieced was etched and soldered to a chased ring.  Then the top plated was riveted to the back plate. 

Sea Glass set in Fine Silver with Kem Boo

I found this piece of sea glass on the beach at the National Sea Shore, Outer Banks, North Carolina.  The simple, organic shape of the glass greatly influenced the textured backplate and the hint of Kem Boo.
